Wigwam Storage has opened a new storage facility in March, Cambridgeshire, marking its 15th site in the UK and continuing its rapid nationwide growth.
The new location has been developed from a former DPD distribution centre, repurposed into a modern storage and warehouse facility. The redevelopment highlights a growing trend in the sector: transforming redundant logistics infrastructure into flexible storage space to meet rising demand from both households and businesses.
The March facility will offer a mix of self-storage units and warehouse space, catering to a wide range of users. Customers will benefit from seven-day access, enhanced security systems and the integration of the Nokē Smart Entry system, a keyless, app-based solution designed to improve both convenience and site security.
Managing Director Simon Fothergill said the expansion reflects the company’s ambition to make storage “simple, secure and affordable” while increasing its presence in communities across the UK. He added that the project demonstrates how existing assets can be sustainably redeveloped to support modern storage needs.
As demand for flexible storage continues to grow, Wigwam states that its expansion signals confidence in the sector and reinforces its position as one of the UK’s fastest-growing independent operators.
