Cityvarasto Plc has strengthened its position in the Helsinki metropolitan area with the acquisition of the entire share capital of Kenguruvarastot Oy.
The transaction adds approximately 700m² of storage space to Cityvarasto’s service network. The facility, operated by a company founded in 1998, is located at Vantaanrinne 14 in Vantaanpuisto, Vantaa, within a commercial centre close to the junction of Ring III and Hämeenlinnanväylä. Following the acquisition, Cityvarasto has become the largest property owner in the commercial centre.
The deal forms part of Cityvarasto’s wider growth strategy, which combines new locations with company acquisitions. It also reflects the continuing consolidation of Finland’s self-storage market.
Ville Stenroos, CEO of Cityvarasto Plc, said the Finnish market still includes many local operators, creating significant consolidation potential. He said acquisitions would continue to play an important role in the company’s expansion.
The Vantaanpuisto facility will be integrated into Cityvarasto’s nationwide network of automated self-storage sites. Customers will be able to rent and manage storage units digitally at any time through the company’s operating platform.
Stenroos said the use of shared digital systems and optimised processes would improve operational efficiency and support profitable growth.
The site is close to the rapidly developing Kivistö area and one of the Helsinki region’s busiest transport corridors. Cityvarasto said it will continue to explore further acquisition and location opportunities as it strengthens its position as Finland’s leading self-storage operator.
