The CSTA presented its 2026 Innovator Awards during the Association’s Birmingham Conference and Networking Meeting.
This year’s CSTA Awards recognised innovation across six areas of the container self-storage sector.
This year’s recipients reflected the wide range of practical, scalable and commercially focused developments now being introduced by operators and suppliers.
The Awards were presented to winners by Richard Pegler, Publisher of The Movers & Storers Magazine, and Event Director of The Movers & Storers Show.
Winner: U Hold The Key – Bespoke CRM and Site Management System
U Hold The Key received the award for its bespoke customer relationship management and site management platform. Developed around the company’s own operating model, the system connects customer enquiries, bookings, account support, workflows, reporting, retention activity and marketing insight in one central platform.
The system was recognised for its ability to support scalable operations while retaining a customer-focused approach. It provides management visibility over areas including occupancy, revenue, lead generation, booking trends and customer lifetime value.
Winner: DSOC – Proactive Monitoring
Runner-up: Domino Clamps – Utility Pole Kit
DSOC won the Security Innovation category for its proactive monitoring model for container self-storage. The approach combines intelligent perimeter protection, sterile-area design, Deep Alert AI technology and trained human intervention to identify suspicious activity before criminals gain access to customer units.
Runner-up recognition went to Domino Clamps for its Utility Pole Kit, a non-destructive system which uses standard ISO container corner castings to create a centralised mounting point for CCTV, lighting, communications equipment and sensors. The system avoids welding, ground excavation and permanent alteration to the container asset.
Winner: Standby Self Storage – Reigate Lift Project
Runner-up: iBidOnStorage – AuctionLens and CleanCapture
Standby Self Storage won for its Reigate Lift Project, which has improved access to upper-level container units at its constrained town-centre site. The commercial-grade lift and walkway system has helped reposition previously less accessible upper-level units as more convenient and higher-value storage space, increasing the productive use of the site without expanding its footprint.
iBidOnStorage was named runner-up for AuctionLens and CleanCapture, two AI-enabled tools designed to support unmanned storage facilities. AuctionLens assists with the creation of inventory drafts for abandoned units, while CleanCapture helps verify unit clearance following auctions, supporting faster deposit decisions and re-letting.
Winner: Container Innovations – QuickFix Magnetic Insulation Mounting System
Runner-up: Container Conversions – Vida e Caffè at Old Mutual Padel Courts
Container Innovations received the Container Technical Innovation award for its combined QuickPlate and QuickFix submission. QuickPlate provides a rapid, non-destructive mounting solution for equipment such as CCTV, lights, solar panels and signage, complementing the company’s insulation innovation. QuickFix is a patent-pending magnetic insulation mounting system for shipping containers. The solution enables insulation to be installed without drilling, welding or adhesives, while remaining removable and reusable. The system was recognised for its practical benefits in improving temperature control, reducing condensation and limiting downtime.
Container Conversions received runner-up recognition for its Vida e Caffè project at the Old Mutual Padel Courts in Cape Town. The two-level container-based coffee shop combines a ground-floor service space with an upper viewing deck, demonstrating how repurposed containers can create a flexible, attractive and relocatable commercial destination.
Winner: Cuboid – The World’s Largest Charity Advent Calendar
Cuboid received the Charity Innovation award for its World’s Largest Charity Advent Calendar. The campaign combined 24 days, 24 containers and 24 charities in a distinctive, high-profile initiative designed to support vulnerable children during the Christmas period.
The campaign was recognised for its clear public-facing message, strong community impact and the way it used containers as the centrepiece of a memorable charitable initiative. It also demonstrated the wider marketing potential of an imaginative, container-led concept.
Winner: Conway – North Container Summit Marketing Campaign
The North Container Summit marketing campaign was recognised for combining event branding, digital communications and post-event engagement.
The campaign brought together a focused international audience from across the container logistics value chain, supported by digital analytics, LinkedIn activity, website performance data and a strong library of reusable visual content. On-site activations, including photo areas, sponsor flags, badges, lanyards and branded gifts, also helped to extend the campaign beyond the event itself.

The CSTA congratulates all award recipients and entrants for their contribution to raising standards, promoting innovation and demonstrating the growing capability of the container self-storage sector.
