Telford 2026: reaching another level

SSA UK’s successful ‘Level Up’ event last month in Telford delivered wide-ranging business conference sessions and a packed exhibition .

The UK self-storage sector gathered in force at the end of April as the Self Storage Association UK organisation hosted its ‘Level Up’ conference and exhibition at the Telford International Centre. Over two busy days, the event once again demonstrated why it has become one of the most important dates in the industry calendar, bringing together operators, suppliers, investors and service providers from across the UK and beyond.

A major highlight of the event was the exhibition itself, which proved to be one of the busiest and most vibrant in recent years. With over 70 exhibitors spread across the two halls, delegates were presented with a comprehensive showcase of products, services and innovations covering every aspect of the self-storage and container storage sectors.

From container manufacturers and security specialists to software providers, insurance companies and access control experts, the exhibition floor remained consistently busy throughout both days. Exhibitors reported strong footfall, high-quality conversations and a steady stream of operators looking for ideas and solutions to improve and expand their businesses.

The atmosphere throughout the venue was energetic and upbeat, with networking taking place from the moment doors opened each morning. Delegates moved constantly between exhibition stands, seminar sessions and networking areas, creating a genuine buzz across the event. The trade show became a focal point for meetings, demonstrations and business discussions, reflecting the continued growth and confidence within the UK self-storage market.

One of the strengths of the Level Up event was the wide variety of exhibitors on display. Established industry suppliers were joined by newer companies bringing fresh technology and innovative services to the market. Visitors had the opportunity to see the latest developments in container storage systems, automation, AI-driven management platforms, security technology and customer service solutions.

Many exhibitors also invested heavily in stand design and interactive displays, helping to create an engaging exhibition experience. Product demonstrations, live software presentations and informal networking spaces encouraged delegates to spend time exploring the show floor rather than simply passing through. The result was an exhibition that felt busy, productive and commercially valuable from start to finish.

Alongside the exhibition, the conference programme featured a wide range of presentations and panel discussions focused on business growth, operational efficiency, investment and technology. Industry leaders shared insights into market trends and future opportunities, while delegates also benefited from practical sessions covering marketing, automation and customer engagement.

Networking remained at the heart of the event, and many attendees commented on the positive atmosphere and willingness of delegates to share experiences and ideas. For both suppliers and operators, the event provided an ideal opportunity to strengthen existing relationships while also creating new business connections.

The strong attendance and packed exhibition halls reflected the continuing momentum within the self-storage and container storage sectors. As operators continue to invest in expansion, technology and customer experience, events such as Level Up play an increasingly important role in bringing the industry together.

By the close of the second day, it was clear that SSA UK had delivered another highly successful conference and trade exhibition. The busy aisles, crowded stands and constant networking activity underlined the importance of the event for the industry and reinforced Telford’s reputation as a key meeting place for the UK self- storage community.
