Lock Stock Self Storage has strengthened its presence in the West Midlands with the acquisition of five former Kwikstore sites.
The North Wales-based company has taken over facilities in West Bromwich, Willenhall, Earlswood near Solihull, Stoke and Kidderminster, adding around 500 storage units and four acres of storage space to its network.
The deal is Lock Stock’s largest site acquisition to date and takes the family-run business to 38 locations across 30 towns and cities. Its network now includes more than 6,400 containers.
The acquisition forms part of a wider expansion strategy that has also seen the company increase its presence in Cheshire, Shropshire, Herefordshire and Merseyside.
Regional Manager Alan Brightmore (pictured above), who will oversee four of the new sites, said the company’s priority was to ensure a smooth transition for existing customers while investing in the facilities.
He said: “We’re delighted to have added five fantastic new sites to Lock Stock, and are excited for a new chapter, bringing our brand and expertise to even more customers across the Midlands.”
Marketing and Communications Officer Ollie Beech said Lock Stock intends to invest in and expand all five sites as part of its long-term growth plans.
Founded in Denbigh, North Wales, in 2000, Lock Stock provides more than five million cubic feet of storage space, with 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers.
The company estimates that more than 70% of its units are rented by domestic customers, including people moving house or storing personal possessions, while almost 30% are used by businesses for stock, materials and equipment.
