National Holding Company has acquired Moving.com and MoveAI, in a move designed to bring AI-powered technology to the consumer relocation experience.
The Illinois-based company said the acquisitions would create a platform connecting consumers, technology and professional moving services throughout the moving journey, from early planning and supplier research to booking and move-day coordination.
Moving.com is one of the best-known online moving marketplaces in the United States and has operated in the sector for more than 25 years. It helps consumers find professional moving companies across the country. MoveAI adds artificial intelligence capability, enabling users to share move details and receive tailored recommendations and quotes.
Tim Helenthal, Chairman and CEO of National Holding Company, said moving remained a stressful and demanding process for consumers, involving emotional disruption as well as practical planning. He said the company could not make moving easy, but believed the combination of technology and industry experience could make it more convenient.
National Holding Company said it intends to invest in the Moving.com platform and develop what it described as the most trusted and effective consumer moving platform in the industry. The company said the combination of Moving.com’s audience, MoveAI’s technology and its own operational knowledge would improve the customer experience while creating new opportunities for movers and industry partners.
Existing Moving.com customer agreements, lead routing processes and service relationships will remain unchanged.
National Holding Company’s existing portfolio includes National Van Lines, National Van Lines International, National Forwarding Co., National Claims and Mighty Moving.
