For Pound Gates, “Doing Good” has long been part of the company’s culture rather than a separate initiative. From 2026, however, the business is evolving how it delivers that commitment – sharpening its focus on Suffolk and introducing a new annual charity partnership model designed to increase impact.
Historically, Pound Gates supported a wide range of charitable causes, including a decade-long involvement with The Soma Leo Foundation, supporting primary education in Kenya. That chapter concluded at the end of 2025. Going forward, Pound Gates will concentrate its efforts closer to home, prioritising organisations within Suffolk, where its people live and work. The principle is simple: deeper local knowledge enables more meaningful, practical support and stronger relationships.
Alongside this geographic shift, Pound Gates is introducing an annual ‘focus charity’ to complement its wider community activity. For 2026, that partner is Inspire, a Suffolk-based organisation helping young people build confidence, skills and brighter futures. Inspire will benefit from funds raised through Pound Gates’ established annual quiz and golf day, bringing together clients, colleagues and partners. The commitment goes beyond fundraising, with staff also contributing time and expertise through mentoring and other hands-on support.
This refreshed approach builds on a strong legacy of local giving. Since 2014, the Pound Gates Acorn Fund, run with Suffolk Community Foundation, has distributed more than £60,000 in grants to over 40 local organisations. The company is also a co-founder of the Ipswich Sporting Lunch Club, which has supported more than 90 young Suffolk athletes pursuing elite ambitions and overcoming financial barriers.
Between 2015 and 2025, Pound Gates contributed over £227,000 to charitable causes, alongside significant volunteering. The business believes skills, time and relationships can be as valuable as funding — and by aligning support with the strengths of its team, it aims to create lasting benefits for the community. Looking ahead, Pound Gates says its locally driven strategy reflects a broader philosophy: meaningful impact comes from consistency, proximity and genuine engagement.
